In this economy...
In this economy can any business, big or small, afford to let one customer have a bad experience in their store?? Especially, local small businesses? While I would have loved to bring you a positive review of a local business here in Kansas City this week, I honestly can't. I won't write a negative review because there is no need to sabotage others in times like these. This is just a thought for others to ponder. With money being tight, local businesses may not be able to update and renovate, but there is something that can make a huge difference without the financial sacrifice. It is called CUSTOMER SERVICE! I just ask that all businesses take a look at the services they can offer and re-evaluate the way they treat their customers. Especially in local businesses, there should be a welcoming and home like atmosphere to their experience. Remember, the customer is always right, whether they are or not is not up for debate.~MH

Jazz in the Woods!
This weekend was a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend, as the week had been pretty stressful. We went to a great jazz concert out at Corporate Woods in Overland Park. It was totally free, which may have been the best part. According to their website, it is the largest free musical festival in Kansas City. So we went and it really was one of the biggest concerts I have ever been too, and I have been to a lot! When I went to college in Lincoln, NE they had a little Jazz festival called Jazz in June. The Jazz in the Woods was so much bigger! There were literally people everywhere! The music was great and there were a lot of food vendors selling things that smelled amazing, but definitely against the diet. The kettle corn was amazing! But probably the most fun was just sitting there and people watching. People are funny! This was a great festival and I hope to go again next year!

Movie Review: The Hangover

So...the review is a little late. But we made it to opening night of The Hangover starring a cast who we typically see playing supporting roles, but who show us what they've got as leads in this hilarious summer comedy about a group of buddies heading to Vegas for a bachelor party! Laughing the hardest we have in a theater since who knows when, we watched this comedy team bring down the house with Zach Galifianakis stealing the show with what seemed to be genius improvised lines that are sure to be immortalized in movie quote history! "Tigers love pepper. They hate cinnamon...", and "Next week's no good for me, the Jonas Brothers are in town..."
All in all, if you're a comedy fan in the taste of Old School, Superbad or Knocked-Up (and you're 18 or older) then this movie needs to be on your list this summer, and on your birthday wish list when it comes out on DVD!
